Question: My biggest concern is shock loss. Am I at a greater risk? Would a transplant at this point do more harm (in terms of damaging native hair) than good?
Reply: Shock loss relates to loss of native hair in the balding zone and happens due to either of the following-
1. Poor magnification- since if the doctor does not see well, he can
2. Poor technique
3. When the existing density in the balding zone is more than 50% of normal.
When shock loss occurs, it may be temporary or permanent. Temporary shock loss should recover by 6 months time..
